Complimentary Offerings Maximize Earnings

A golf outing in Worthington just before the hotel predominant in the photo, burned down.

We have targeted complimentary income streams

The Worthington Golf Course was sold to David and Helen Pollard in February of 2018 with the hope that through their management, it could be saved for future generations.  The property was underwater between $500K and $1M and membership had dwindled down to  approximately 40 members.  The Pollards invested heavily in infrastructure improvements,  making the golf product exceptional,   upgraded equipment,  and  have added another  100  active  members.    These  actions  dramatically  increased  revenue,  but it’s not quite enough to  improve the  property and  sustain  it  without additional income streams.  Other  sources  of  income  have  been  brought  online  allowing  us  to  cross  sell and  increase  revenue per property.

The  below  represents  our  current  product  offering.

Welcome to Velvet at Worthington

Our Story

We have turned our entrepreneurial business management chops to the management of physical properties; the Worthington Golf Club and our Victorian home.  We were asked by the members to take ownership of the properties as a last ditch effort to save this community treasure.  We now manage a  Restaurant, Concert series, Weddings, and Corporate Event Venue,  Golf Outings, Memberships, and Tournaments,  and

Guest Accommodations

We  arguably  hold  $3+ million  in  physical  assets  on  $700K  debt

Concerts

We have experienced true success for concerts since we launched our offering three years ago.

From Jethro Tull and Pure Prairie League, to

Jon Pousette-Dart and Clay Melton, to Sam Cooke’s daughter, Carla, and Misty Blues and the 413s,…local, international, the best of the best perform in a site even more spectacular than Tanglewood.  —and the ARTISTS love it.

Restaurant

We have hired Jeff Cahill as our Executive Chef.  Jeff is a founder and former co owner of the renowned Riff’s Joint in Easthampton.  He has been a professional chef for over 20 years.

We undertook several large, in house catering events in 2024, including a wedding,  and performed to rave reviews.  He is excited to make this partnership work.

We use organic food, sourced locally as much as we can.  Local farmers grow for us.  Everything is homemade, unique, and delicious.

Weddings and Corporate Events

We have fielded inquiries to hold weddings at the golf club and house because the scenery is so spectacular.   Our reputation as hosts is well known to our community, and our world travel and experiences offer a unique approach to the hospitality business.

We anticipate hosting 3-5 weddings in 2025 as we ramp up our marketing and plans to host 30 weddings a year in 2027.

1904 Golf Course

Gilded Age Accommodations

The golf course was established in 1904, sitting on 150 acres of manicured lawn, 10 greens and Lucious fairways, in beautiful, wooded seclusion.

We are becoming a tournament destination, have several long running tournaments, and have landed prestigious events such as an annual

Soldier On tournament that we will host on Memorial Day weekend.

We are a member of the prestigious Berkshire County Allied Member Golf Courses, allowing our members to play at the most prestigious golf courses in the Berkshires

We are a founding member of the international 1904 club, a group of golf courses established in 1904 when golf last appeared in the Olympics…until Tiger Woods came on the scene. This allows our members play in sister clubs worldwide that would otherwise note be available to them.

We own a Victorian Gilded Age house and carriage barn , with guest quarters, on a 50 acre manicured and forested estate.   The grounds hold established fruit orchards, paths leading to a laughing brook,  and several perennial gardens, framed by original stone walls.

The house and barn can accommodate overnight guests, weddings, and other intimate and corporate gatherings.

The CEO of

Netflix, Reed Hastings, was married here.

This property is 1.2 miles from the golf course.
